In the 1980s, the introduction of several horses from another herd management area brought the "cream gene" to the Pryor wild herd. The result was this buckskin color (cream on a bay horse) and palomino (cream on a sorrel horse). The original Colonial Spanish Horse (CSH) type identified in the original herd does not include this color pattern.
